How To Reduce Belly Fat? 3 Things You Need To Know!

“How To Lose Belly Fat”

Let me be clear about this and say it as simple as possible…..

You CANNOT spot reduce fat!  In other words, if you want to lose belly fat, doing sit ups and crunches will NOT give you a small midsection!  Let’s face it folks, when you’re over 45 or 50 years old, this whole “I can do a 2 hour workout at the gym” thing just isn’t as sexy as it was when you were 25 years old.

But, at the same time, you have learned to be more efficient with things in our life at this age as opposed to the younger you, right?
I’m here to tell you we can all be more efficient with this “reduce belly fat” thing as well.
Remember, we ALL have a six pack in our midsection, but it’s mostly covered up with that unwanted fat.
So the question then is, “how to lose belly fat in the most efficient way possible?”
Let me see if I can explain this in simple terms. (I like to keep things simple)

In order for this to make sense, you may need to change your mindset just a tad. In other words, instead of focusing on doing mid section exercises, focus on total fat body fat loss. Get it?
I’m going to outline a thought process that, hopefully,

What Is An Average Workout?

Being in the position I’m in, running a fitness orientated website for the Fitness Over 50 crowd, I get people saying to me quite frequently that they are just average people and not looking for some fancy-dancy workout.  Can you help me and give me just an average workout to do?

This makes me wonder sometimes and here’s why…..I used to interview fitness pro’s from around the globe and everyone one the people I’ve interviewed, yes EVERY ONE OF THEM, gear their instructions to the person just starting out in the fitness or health world.  No “advanced stuff”, so to speak. They do it that way because it’s the common sense way to approach health and fitness.  They, like me, want to see people get healthy, that’s the goal!

All that being said, getting back to the comment about what workout can an average person do. Let’s think about this for a minute. What is an average person? What does an average person do?

Here is a day in the life of average Joe Lunchbucket, or average Jill Professional:

What Can Happen In A Month?

Q: I plan on starting a health and fitness program next month.  What do you think I should do to prepare for it?

A:  This question is almost like an excuse type of thing. I know this because I used to do it all the time as well. "I'll start next month/week."

In other words, you're telling yourself (subconsciously),"I have a month to fluff off and do nothing.  I can eat whatever you want and be lazy until then."

Here's the way I (now) look at this kind of question. Why wait a month to get started? Holidays?  Family stuff?  Vacation?

Outside of a vacation, I'm not sure which one of those actually lasts a month, but we won't get into that right now.

Let's focus on the "next month" part of the question, OK.

If you're planning on starting something a month from now, and you've already planned on it, I would say just move your
plan up a month is all.

Do you know how much your body can change in a month, just with a little bit of change to your diet?
A change to your workout?
A change to your daily routine?

All I'm saying, getting back to the original question, if you want to know what I think you should do to prepare for it, I would say don't wait a month, start doing something now!

Start some kind of workout now!
Start some kind of eating plan now!

Yes folks, it really is that simple. A little bit of change can equal a HUGE change in your body in an entire month!
